Renault Samsung announced that it will start producing electric vehicle SM3 Z.E. at its Busan factory from October 14.
On the day, the company will hold a ceremony at its Busan plant to celebrate the launching of SM3 Z.E. mass production, attended by many dignitaries, including its president Francois Provost.
With Renault Samsung’s Busan plant establishing a mass-production system for SM3 electric vehicles, the Busan Metropolitan City government plans to introduce electric taxis and expand charging stations across the city from next year.
Renault Samsung has already secured pre-orders for 500 electric vehicles and plans to produce 4,000 electric cars a year from next year.
A Renault Samsung official said, “We will expand the supply of our models for the Busan Metropolitan City government’s electric taxi program and the Seoul Metropolitan City government’s car sharing program.”
