Theglobal shipments of Samsung Electronics' latest flagship smartphone Galaxy S8,which was released on April 21, have already passed the 10-million level.
Accordingto Samsung Electronics on May 16, the sales of the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plusthrough telecom service companies worldwide, including those in Korea, exceededthe 10-million level, more than 5 million of which are now in use by consumers.
Companyofficials said, "We cannot disclose sales figures in detail but the salesof the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus are going smoothly worldwide." Samsung saidthe shipments of the Galaxy S8 are about 20-30 percent higher than those of itsprevious version Galaxy S7.
Startingfrom Korea, the United States, and Canada, Samsung launched the sales of the GalaxyS8 last month and expanded the sales coverage toward European markets,including Britain, France, and Germany.
Herein Korea, the pre-order sales of the Galaxy S8 crossed the 1 million level,while those in the United States marked a 30-percent increase compared to thoseof the previous model.
