Thusfar, Samsung Electronics has unveiled new TV models in India about three monthsafter showcasing them in other major markets. This time, however, Samsungshortened the gap in the date of releasing new models in India to one month.
Theprimary factor behind this move is that India's TV market is growing at anexplosive pace, emerging as a new battlefield among major TV brands. Samsungofficials said, "QLED TV features superior quality, design, and smartfunctionality. We expect the QLED TV to be loved by Indian consumers. India isone of this year's key markets for us."
Asof 2016, the number of TVs sold in India totaled 168 million units, the secondlargest behind China. The size of India's TV market is forecast to more thantriple to about 13 trillion won this year from 4.24 trillion won in 2008.
