With the arrival of Samsung Electronics' brand-new smartphone Galaxy S8, the related component stocks fluctuated sharply. On March 30, the share price of Anam Electronics closed at 4,280 won, up 17.42 percent or 635 won from the previous day. During the trading hours, it surged to 4,430 won, renewing its one-year high.
Anam Electronics supplies audio products to Harman Kardon, a subsidiary of Harman of the United States. The Galaxy S8 which was unveiled in New York a day ago is offered together with a high-end earphone appointed with Harman's premium audio brand AKG technology.
After hitting a one-year high at 70,400 won, the stock price of Samsung Electro-Mechanics that produces dual cameras for Galaxy S8 closed at 69,200 won, up 200 won or 0.29 percent from a day before.
Other Galaxy S8-related component stocks also showed strength, with Jahwa Electronics, a supplier of front camera auto focus components for the Galaxy S8, and Patron, a specialist in supply of camera modules. Their stock prices rose 5.76 percent and 3.48 percent, respectively.
