LG Electronics announced on March 12 that its brand-new premium smartphone G6 was sold more than 30,000 units in just two days after release. LG attributed the strong results to the high attention given to its pre-launch experience events, a string of good reviews in and outside Korea, and brisk pre-order sales.
LG Electronics ran LG G6 experience zones at about 3,000 stores nationwide, including those run by the nation's three major telecom companies. The G6's FullVision display and its second-to-none user convenience received high reviews from those who used it at the experience zone.
The G6 won a total of 36 awards at the world's largest mobile exhibition Mobile World Congress 2017 which was held in Barcelona, Spain, on February 26 and garnered a string of positive reviews from major IT media.
Such popularity led to brisk pre-order sales. During the reservation sales period from March 2 to 9, LG achieved strong pre-order sales of 82,000 units.
