Samsung Electronics swept 49 awards, including one golden award, at Germany's international design competition "International Forum Design Award 2017." Samsung, accordingly, became the recipient of the largest awards among those that participated in this year's iF Design Award.
The iF Design Award, commenced in 1953 by Germany's International Forum Design, is based on an comprehensive evaluation of design, material adequacy, and innovation in seven categories, including product, communication, package, concept, service design, architecture, and interior.
Samsung Electronics won a total of 35 awards, including one golden, in the product category, four awards in concept, seven in communication, and three in package.
In particular, the new-concept premium desktop personal computer "Art PC" won the golden award. It employs a full metallic cylinder-type design, allowing the hard disk drive and 360-degree speaker being easily detachable. It also features a minimalist design with buttons and ports placed on the rear side.
