According to a survey conducted by Nielsen Media Research Center in 2004,
more than 80% of KED readers have graduated college, university or graduate school,
while only 51.8% of readers of Korean newspapers are college graduates or possess higher degrees;
this points to the high intellectual level of KED readers.
The majority of our readers are in their 30's or 40's, are leaders in the Korean economy,
and 73.5% live in the Seoul metropolitan area. Only 32.0% of readers who subscribe to
our rival economic daily are white-collar workers, while 44.3% of our readership engages
in white-collar jobs, with those that are self-employed accounting for 26.1%.
KED readers are the mainstream, leading the Korean economy.
KED readers are high income-earners: readers who earn more than \5 million (approximately US$4,000)
a month account for 31.7%, while only 8.6% of readers of Korean newspapers are in the same income bracket.
KED readers set a high value on our contents. According to Nielsen Media Research,
29% of our readers showed satisfaction with the KED. In the case of our rival daily,
only 19% of their readers responded positively. In addition, 100% of periodic newspaper
or magazine readers responded that they intended to read the KED in the future,
while 92.94% said they would like to subscribe to other Korean newspapers.
