KIECO was firstly held in 1981. Since then, the exhibition has been the most recognized among domestic computer exhibitions.

To expand the Ba-duk population and improve Korean Ba-duk culture, the KED holds an amateur Kuksu Competition and a Women's Kuksu Competition which is regarded as the first and best among women's pro-games.

The Vocational Expo helps applicants research the job market and provides information on job training. In particular, the Expo provides more and better opportunities for those people that are casual or irregular workers, or unemployed. This exhibition has expanded employment opportunities for job seekers since 1997.
