The Da-San Award is well-recognized as a prestigious award covering various fields including the Da-San Economics Award, Da-San Entrepreneur Award, Da-San Technology Award and Da-San Finance Award. Da-San refers to Chung Yak Yong, who was the most respected public servant and pragmatic Confucianist during the Josun Dynasty.

The KED offers this award twice a year to provide accurate information for consumers and to encourage companies to produce high quality commodities. The award enjoys high esteem in terms of customer reliability since candidates are chosen through strict deliberations.

This award is designed to promote core technologies and R&D activities of applied technologies in the multi-media area, thereby strengthening the international competitiveness of the Korean multi-media industry. The products winning the President's prize and prizes from the Ministry of Information & Communication are exhibited during the KIECO (Korea International Exhibition for Computer Software & Communication).
