Korea's consumer prices remained stable in May with consumer price index(CPI) rising 2.5% year-on-year, Statistics Korea said on June1. The figure is the same recorded in April.

The May CPI growth rate is the lowest since 2007 when the figure marked 2.3%.

Monthly CPI growth rate was 3.4% in January, 3.1% February and 2.6% in March.

The so-called core inflation, which excludes agricultural goods and volatile oil, grew 1.6 percent from a year earlier and 0.2% over the previous month.
