Girls Generation, one of K-pop's current reigning girl groups, was picked as an advertising model for watch brand Casio's "Baby-G."
Gcosmo, an official importer of Casio, announced July 11 that the Girls Generation will serve as a muse for Baby-G in Korea, China, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Australia.
Casio plans to launch a series of active marketing activities by matching Girls Generation's various attractions with Baby-G's splendid color and unique design that is based on the concept of "tough, cool and cute." The main concept of the advertising will be "wink or kiss by eyes."
Gcosmo officials said, "By employing Girls Generation who is now at the center of the Korean Hallyu in the midst of ever-esclating popularity of K-Pop, Casio would be able to enhance its brand image in Asia and increase its revenues therefore."
